Dr. Alexa Schneider

An encompassing belief that physical, mental, social, spiritual, and emotional well-being are all critical

to ones vitality and health along with a quest to constantly grow - have led me through a path of

continuous learning and an ability to profoundly impact others on their path toward wellness.

Family Nurse Practitioner

Inspired by my father, who helped so many as a Doctor of Naturopathy, yet wanting to make an immediate impact in a traditional world, I became a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP).  I had the privilege to serve patients in family practice from pregnancy to 100 years old for over 25 years.

Doctor of
Naturopathy

My own illness and experience with traditional medicine led me to pursue a Doctorate in Naturopathy.  Debilitating chronic fatigue, pain, and numerous health issues impacted my life on a daily basis.  With the knowledge gained, I was able to shed 80 pounds, significantly reduce the symptoms of seven medical conditions within six months and, more importantly, engage and thrive again.  Hearing so many patients share similar struggles, I was now better equipped to support them through their own journey.

PhD Counseling Psychology

Always on a quest to expand my body of knowledge and seeing the profound impact of our emotions, mental state, and relationships on our physical health (and vice versa), I obtained a PhD in Counseling Psychology.  Here, I learned proven techniques to rewire our brain and transition from the chaotic sympathetic nervous system to the healing parasympathetic nervous system. As a result, I have supported people to thrive beyond depression, anxiety, PTSD, sexual abuse, grief, trauma, ADD/ADHD, and other psychological conditions.

Ordained
Minister

Spiritual health has always been at the core of my being. Both of my parents were ordained ministers and together with my husband, we too became ordained ministers.  I have seen first hand the power of faith and hope to impact people through extremely challenging times towards healing.  Even though I continue to research and attend medical trainings approximately 10+ hours a week I pray for my patients and rely on God's wisdom to guide me on their treatment plans.

My Varied
Experiences

My varied experiences…

  • As a FNP treating pregnancy to 100 year olds for 25+ years.

  • As an Associate Clinical Professor at University of Rochester educating nursing professionals for 20 years.

  • As a medical malpractice expert testifying in trials regarding acceptable standard of care.

  • As a NY Sexual Assault Forensic examiner, compassionately supporting men, woman, and children immediately following sexual assault.

  • As a medical marijuana practitioner, I have seen people live with a greater quality of life.

  • Utilizing functional medicine principles to treat illness at the root cause with Dr. Leila Kirdani and then Dr. Pam Grover’s practices for the last 8 years.

…all brought me here — to be uniquely suited to empower people on their journey of health, hope and healing.
